Our new flagship branch is now open!

We welcome you to our flagship Edmonds Branch. On September 21, 2020, the South Burnaby Branch at 7375 Kingsway will be relocated across the street to Suite 101 - 7310 Kingsway. The branch will be changing its name to the Edmonds Branch to pay homage to our long history in this area.

G&F has a long history as a community credit union serving families and businesses in the Lower Mainland.

Gulf and Fraser Fishermen’s Credit Union (our full legal name) was founded in Vancouver in 1940 and over the years we have built 16 branches across the Lower Mainland, including four branches in Burnaby. When G&F merged with United Savings Credit Union in 2004, we brought in a legacy of cooperative, community-focused work in Burnaby that can be traced back to the 1930s. In fact, not far down the road from the Edmonds Branch, one of the first credit unions in BC was conceived at a co-op grocery store.^[1]Read this member story to learn more.

80 years later, credit unions are still strong in BC and continue to evolve along with the finance industry. We take pride in holding true to our co-operative principles as we uphold our concern for community and make it our first priority to provide education, training and information, and financial services that support our members.
