Giving back to the communities we work in

As a community-based and member-owned credit union, G&F Financial Group is committed to doing business in a way that contributes to the social, economic and environmental well-being of the communities we serve.

In 2018, G&F Financial Group donated over $532,000 to various initiatives in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia.

We supported 15 organizations, investing in projects that empowered and uplifted people.

We donated funds to the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, United Way and Richmond Hospital Foundation—organizations that we see as having a significant and positive impact in our province.

We also led financial literacy workshops and seminars in community centres and schools—empowering new Canadians and others to manage their finances and prepare for a better future.

Our growth and success is not only ours. It is yours too.

Financial literacy sessions in your community

At G&F Financial Group we are inspired by our communities and the people that live in them, their hopes and dreams for the future. We believe financial literacy is critical to the prosperity and financial well-being of all Canadians and by sharing our knowledge, we hope to help them achieve their own bright horizons and live successful lives, beyond banking.

To support and enhance financial literacy throughout the communities we serve, we provide financial literacy sessions to organizations and community groups in BC. All sessions are interactive and are tailored to meet the specific needs of those attending the session. The content relates to current and relevant topics. Our presenters are focused on sharing information—not promoting products.

During these sessions we have provided education on financial topics related to:

  • Adults and families
  • Employees in the workplace
  • New Canadians
  • Elementary, high school and post-secondary students
  • Small and medium businesses
  • Entrepreneurs
